No musical knowledge or skill is necessary to create completely new and original music. Piano Motifs is the simplest way to generate your own music.

There are no preset melodies; melodies are generated algorithmically, resulting in endless melodic possibilities.

You can set the music tempo and select the key, scale, time signature, octave range, number of bars, melody constraints, melody note frequency, and accompaniment style for your motif.

Piano Motifs offers an option to generate Swing rhythm for the melody in either Shuffle or Hard Swing.

You can program your own chord progressions and let Piano Motifs generate an accompaniment and melody for them.

Piano Motifs also generates a 3rd track with options for a sustained chord per bar, sustained chord per multiple bars, or a drone tone - perfect for strings, choirs, or pads.

You can arrange your motifs to create longer musical pieces and use different motifs for different song sections. Additionally, you can shift octaves or semitones in different sections of an arrangement.

Piano Motifs offers a selection of 20 different accompaniment styles as well as the ability to define your arpeggio accompaniments.

When exporting a MIDI file, you have the option to include a third MIDI track with a sustained chord per bar, sustained chord per multiple bars, or a drone tone - ideal for synth pads, strings, or chorus.

Incorporate the MIDI file in your iOS production workflow and share audio or MIDI through iMessages, email, Whatsapp, or AirDrop. You can also save audio or MIDI to your device's file system.

If you want to seamlessly incorporate Piano Motifs into your workflow, you can make an AUv3 MIDI Plug-In In-App Purchase. This allows you to instantiate Piano Motifs in apps that can host AUv3 MIDI Plug-Ins such as AUM, AudioBus 3, ApeMatrix, or Drambo. Please note that GarageBand does not support MIDI-only Plug-Ins, so the AUv3 will not work in GarageBand.

The AUv3 MIDI Plug-In features include the ability to play Piano Motifs in sync and out of sync with the host, state-saving functionality, independent programmable MIDI channels for melody, accompaniment, optional third track, and optional melody harmony track, and interactive octave shifting for the melody and accompaniment.

If you want to play the music generated by Piano Motifs on your favorite synthesizer, DAW, or connect/route/mix app like AUM, you can purchase the MIDI Out In-App Purchase. This enables utilizing Virtual MIDI Destination (MIDI In) capabilities in compatible apps. Please note that Piano Motifs does not offer Ableton Link functionality.

The MIDI Out In-App Purchase features include setting Piano Motifs in loop mode, programmable delay for the start of a motif, independent programmable MIDI channels for melody, accompaniment, and an optional third track, and saving MIDI Out settings between Piano Motifs sessions.

Piano Motifs selects a music key from various scales and an accompaniment from a varied set. By using its musical theory algorithms, Piano Motifs overlays a melody in the chosen key and accompaniment. The resulting motifs are short, ranging from around 16 to 30 seconds.
